Product Journey

GodSpeaks started with the idea that we could build a useful app, pray over the code, and God would do more than we could ask or imagine.

Product History

2019

In 2019 we launched the first beta version of GodSpeaks. For a handful of reasons, it never made it to the app store, but the dream never died in our hearts.

2022

In 2022, Nate and I started Avodah Transformations with a vision to build products, both for us and others. This time we were all in. We launched the Friends & Family version of GodSpeaks in the app store on December 2nd, 2022.

Current State

2023

Throughout the first part of 2023, we learned from our users and made plans for our next launch. Whenever we shared GodSpeaks with someone, it always came with a caveat - we are really excited, but... and listed off a handful of things we were embarrassed about. That's fine, but it was time to take the next step.

On June 1st, 2023, we launched the Market Ready version of GodSpeaks.

Future Features & Products

What's next, you ask?

Well let me tell you!
We continue to hold ourselves accountable to more than we can ask or imagine, and do so by having a vision for what's next, but always asking for God to do more. The ideas we have below are not set in stone, but they are the things we are working towards.

Premium features & a business model

Everything we've done so far is free, and that's nice, but it isn't a good business model. We think that the work we do is valuable and we've spent years talking about what pricing model makes sense and what features should be paid. We have a plan and we are excited to roll it out, hopefully in the next few months. This is also where we are going to release features like -

  • Images
  • Videos
  • Rich Text Editing
  • Search
  • Web app
  • Voice Memos
  • Customizable reminders
  • Customizable themes

Not all of these features will end up in the paid version and there will always be a form of GodSpeaks that is free. However, we believe it is important for us to build an actual business (generate revenue) and we are excited to do so.

Connection

You name it, we want to connect it. (That's definitely not true.)

But we do want to connect GodSpeaks and GodSpeaks users!
This includes things like -

  • Creating an entry and sharing it with a friend through the app
  • Creating memories from your photos, a screenshot, or a piece of text
  • Integrating the Bible
  • Tagging memories with categories
  • Tagging memories with people

One of my favorite ideas is having my children tagged in memories and then being able to jump-start their GodSpeaks with the memories I have stored up for them.

Connecting Communities

Can we have this for our church?

We get asked about this all time and the answer is - we want to!

We are cautious in that we aren't looking to build a social-media app, but we've seen the value of micro-communities in technology and thinks there is a place for GodSpeaks in that.

Merch

I want merch so bad.

I don't even want to say much about it, but I will say this -
GodSpeaks socks.

Living Liturgies

I built a prototype of GodSpeaks with a spreadsheet on Google Docs that emailed me every morning. But it wasn't just my memories (I only had 30 or so), it was also my prayer list. I had some people that I prayed for every day (my wife & kids), some weekly, and some monthly. It was cool to set up a list of things I wanted to be reminded of at different intervals and get my own personal newsletter every morning. I'd like to see GodSpeaks have something like that in the future.

Is that it?

No way. But that is all you get right now.

If you haven’t already downloaded the app, do it!!

Feel free to let us know what you love about GodSpeaks, or what we can do to make it better!

In awe of Jesus,

Andrew & Nate
